Students from School for Ethics and Global Leadership Visit Laogai Museum

A group of students from the School for Ethics and Global Leadership visited the Laogai Museum on March 31, 2015. The students received a guided tour of the artifacts on display in the museum from Laogai Research Foundation Executive Director and the founder of Laogai Museum Harry Wu. Mr. Wu gave an account of his own harrowing story in the Laogai camp system. Mr. Wu’s testimony was met with applause and a round of questions and answers.

The Laogai Museum features exhibits, archived documents, and original artifacts depicting the horrors of China’s laogai system, China’s vast system of detention facilities in which countless political prisoners are incarcerated. The museum exists to raise awareness of the laogai system and human rights abuses perpetrated by the Chinese Communist Party.

Executive Director Harry Wu is delighted by museum visitors and is willing to give tours to any visitors (provided an appointment is scheduled through the museum).
